Jim Bradley
Jim founded Capital Excavation in 1984, after earning a B.B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from St. Edward’s University. He was the visionary who guided Capital Excavation from a budding operation specializing in small local projects to contracting company with major projects all over the state. Today, Jim continues to develop and implement the general strategy and direction of the company, and is often directly involved in construction projects, engineering, accounting, and all other aspects of the business. He is a former president of the Associated General Contractors of Texas and is still active in the organization.
Chris Bradley
Chris joined Capital Excavation in 2004 after studying civil engineering at the University of Texas and earning an M.B.A. from St. Edward’s University. Even before signing on full time, Chris spent summers during high school and college working in Capital Excavation’s maintenance, field operations and estimating departments. Today, Chris is actively involved in all aspects of the company’s operations, strategy, estimating and accounting, and takes it upon himself to ensure that Capital Excavation’s high standards are met every day. He is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Associated General Contractors.
Scott Budd
Scott has 30+ years of construction management and development expertise with vast market knowledge and business contacts in the Central and South Texas regions. He has comprehensive experience in single-family and commercial development as well as municipal and heavy/highway construction. Today, he leads the overall business strategy and operations, including development, turnkey construction, and contract management for public and private client construction projects. He earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from St. Edward’s University. He is an active member, including former past President, of the ACEA.
Bill Mayfield
Bill has four decades of broad experience in complex civil construction and has been instrumental to the continued growth and success of Capital Excavation. His exceptional relationships with TXDot and many local governmental agencies across central and south Texas continue to enable complex projects to run efficiently and successfully. The company leverages Bill’s valuable knowledge and insights for project estimating, procurement and other business development related activities. Additionally, he is a valuable mentor and trainer for the skilled trades and managers across the company.
Joe Chesney, PE
Joe has more than 40 years of experience in civil engineering design, client relations, project management and heavy highway construction. In his role at Capital Excavation, he leads and collaborates with project managers and project superintendents to ensure high-quality pre-construction work. He also works closely with division managers to coordinate subcontractor scheduling, material procurement, and client communications. Joe is a registered professional engineer and holds a B.S. in civil engineering from The University of Texas.
Jes Taylor
Jes has amassed more than 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, and IT. At Capital Excavation, he oversees the reporting of all financial transactions, financial analysis, and constantly seeks opportunities for growth and process improvement for the company. He is the liaison with the firm’s tax team, auditors, banking, and IT team. Jes earned his MBA from Arizona State University and is a registered CPA in Texas, as well as a registered CMA and CSCA with the Institute of Management Accountants.
Reed Hoysradt
Reed has 15+ years of experience in construction and project management roles. In his current position, he is responsible for overseeing project teams in the Austin and San Antonio area. He has comprehensive experience in project estimation, project management and operations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of North Florida.
