At Capital Excavation, safety always comes first. A good project is a safe project — and our unsurpassed and passionate dedication to safety is the foundation on which all of our work is built. We believe strongly that safety is critical not only to the on-site employees who work for us, but also to the clients we work for. And we strive for perfection.
We employ a full-time safety director. Safety is stressed at weekly crew meetings, and at monthly safety meetings. Safety training sessions are held each month. And our commitment to safety has not gone unnoticed.
We’ve received a number of awards for our sterling safety record. Among our accomplishments:
- For more than 20 years, Capital Excavation has been at least 25% below the national average for accidents and injuries in heavy highway projects.
- In 2004, Capital Excavation was honored with the Associated General Contractors of America first prize for National Contractor of the Year (in the 750,000 to 1 million man-hour category).
- In 2003, Capital Excavation was a national finalist for the same award.
- As a result of our award-winning safety record, we are able to provide our clients with comprehensive insurance coverage.
